Lynette
Malcolm has been involved in the Building Industry in
varying roles for 25 years. Starting working life as
a finance consultant and a fashion model Lyn found these
diverse occupations both required professionalism and
discipline on which she thrived. Lyn enjoyed combining
colours, textures and the creative presentation required
by the fashion industry equally with the very grounded
discipline and accuracy required by the finance industry.
In the 80’s Lyn trained and commenced work in
the building industry in sales and building design utilizing
both her natural creativity and skills of logic. This
work came naturally and she quickly progressed through
positions as top sales consultant onto Victorian Sales
Manager for one of Victoria’s top 10 building
companies. Completion of an HIA Building Supervisors
Course and a great involvement in all areas of the company
including building finance saw Lyn gain a wealth of
knowledge from many perspectives. She later wrote and
lectured a course at TAFE VIC on How to Complete a Home
Past Lock Up Stage.
Following a further 2 years as building designer &
colour consultant for a Coffs Harbour building company
Lyn then completed an Interior Design Course followed
by a variety of colour consultancy courses and workshops.
She worked as colour consultant for a national company
for 2 years followed by 10 years as top sales consultant
for then Coffs Harbour’s largest builder.
Within this role Lyn worked as a finance consultant,
sourced suitable land, designed home & land packages,
designed marketing material, documentation and systems
and worked as interior designer and colour consultant.
One achievement was the full colour selection and interior
design on the North Coast Display Home of the Year.
Lyn’s role in design studio 22 is the overall
management of the business and co ordination the interior
design and specification section which assists with
colour, finishes, documentation, quotes, electrical
plans and more to ensure the needs and ideas of the
clients are communicated effectively to the builder. |
